The Malaysia REDD Plus Safeguards Information System (MY-SIS) is a national system developed to provide information on how the Cancun Safeguards are addressed and respected in Malaysia throughout the implementation of REDD Plus activities.

Purpose of MY-SIS

MY-SIS has two primary purposes:

• To ensure the sustainable management of Malaysia's natural forest
• To meet the UNFCCC requirements for results-based payments

Development Process

MY-SIS was developed through a series of consultations involving various stakeholders, including federal and state government agencies, indigenous peoples and local communities, civil society organizations, and academic institutions.
